prevention"The best way to prevent chickenpox is to get the chickenpox vaccine." -Center for Disease Control and Prevention Vaccination is the main tool with which to prevent chickenpox and shingles. This safe and effective option has, according to the Center for Disease Control, decreased the cases of chickenpox and shingles 90% from before the vaccine was available. People who have been vaccinated will rarely contract the disease and those who do will generally get a milder version. The recommended dosage for healthy patients from childhood to adulthood is two doses.
